Homes sales decreased by 7.6% in El Paso County for the month of September when compared to August 2009.

There were 89 additional single family home sales in September 2009 when compared to September 2008. There were also an additional 1,195 single family homes for sale in September 2008.

The average ($214,848) and median ($189,900) sales price decreased when compared to the previous month of August.  The average sale price decreased by $7,683 and the median sale price slightly decreased by $5,650. With the exception of the previous two months, the average and the median sales price has steadily increased since January 2009.
Homes $175,000 and below are selling quickly due to increased first time home buyer traffic before the first time home buyer tax credit expires next month.
