Important items to consider when buying a Victorian home in Colorado Springs
The Old North End is known for it's tree lined streets and Victorian Homes in the central area of Colorado Springs. Many homebuyers who like the West side of Colorado Springs and enjoy being a little closer to the mountains, can find Victorian homes in Old Colorado City as well.
In fact, "Victorian" refers to an era (1837-1901) not a type of home! Over the years, people have generallyh referred to homes built in this era as Victorian Style Homes. Either way, you recognize a Victorian Home when you see one! They usually have large porches, are painted with multiple colors, and are usually one or two-story floor plans here in Colorado Springs. There is usually more detail to the exterior design of the home (i.e. patterned exterior siding and decorative trim) when compared to homes built in recent years.

Colorado Springs Area Home Sales
Single family home sales in June varied by area as can be seen in the pie chart above.
The Powers area had more single family home sales in June 2008 than any other area of Colorado Springs. The Northeast and Briargate areas also had a large percentage of the total single family home sales in Colorado Springs last month.
These statistics give you an idea of which areas of town buyers are looking in for homes and which areas of Colorado Springs have the most real estate activity.
Overall, the West side has had fewer sales than any other Colorado Springs area consistently over the past few years. Although the number of home sales are lower in this area, so is the home inventory ; there are currently 181 homes for sale in the West area of the Springs. On the other hand, the Powers area may have the highest home sale in June 2008 but it also currently has 590 homes for sale in the MLS.

Colorado Springs Market Report - Ridgeview at Stetson Hills
Ridgeview at Stetson Hills is a subdivision located east of Powers and is conveniently located near many restaurants, shopping, schools, and both new hospitals. Most of the homes in the area are ranch or 2-story floor plans and builders included: John Laing, Melody, Richmond, and Pulte. There has been a lot of real estate activity in this area of Colorado Springs.
