Home sales increased by 15% in El Paso County for the month of July when compared to the previous month of June. Sales were 21.9% higher when compared to July 2011.
There were 175 additional single family home sales in July 2012 when compared to July 2011. There were also an additional 884 single family homes for sale in July 2011. Inventory levels continue to remain much lower than they were around this time last year in Colorado Springs.
Compared to the previous month of June, the average sales price ($236,062) decreased while the median sales price ($212,000) slightly increased. Last July, the average sales price was $224,776 and the median sales price was $198,950. Buyers are continuing to take advantage of the opportunity to purchase a home with the current low interest rates and home prices.
